Alastair is Founder & Managing Partner of Candid Group Asia Limited, an investment holdings company comprising of Candid Properties Limited & Candid Investments Asia Limited.
Alastair was born in the UK and moved to Hong Kong in 2009. He spent the last 7 years of his career in investment banking focusing primarily on client origination for the financial institutions sectors, later specializing in hedge funds and asset managers.
He left finance to pursue his dream of setting up a local real estate technology company to address inefficiencies in the market. He felt that there was a real issue in the sector both from his own experiences and those he knew, especially when it came to levels of service. Candid Properties Limited is his solution.
Within Candid Group he is also responsible for leading Candid Services Limited, the Company’s venture capital and consulting business which has a number of retained clients who appreciate his strategic guidance and is also responsible for sourcing investments for the venture capital side which are beneficial to the Group. He also has a number of other Candid affiliated subsidiaries he plans to roll out in the near future to address other service sectors with inefficiencies.
He is a member of the British Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and The Entrepreneurs Club where he is an Advisory Board member.
He has a BSc in Strategy & Management from Aston University (UK). He is an avid golfer and also loves to travel.
