5 Questions With Sai Sudha, the Co-Founder of Hidden Truffles

Meet Sai Sudha (pictured right, next to co-founder Anasua), the co-founder of Hidden Truffles, a platform that helps Hong Kong discover high quality local businesses.

Before moving to Hong Kong back in 2011, the mother of two completed an MBA from Great Lakes Institute of Management in India along with a specialization course at Harvard University.

Although Hidden Truffles is her first venture, Sudha has also been involved with multiple startups including microfinance and healthcare tech companies in both India and the US. Raised by a pair of entrepreneurs, Sudha had been inspired by her parents at a young age (her father was a first generation entrepreneur and started his own auto ancillaries company, while her mother has been running a saree boutique for two decades) and believes that guts and intuition are more important than theories of books.

Before starting Joy Sprouts, co-founder and CEO Suzanne So worked in the children business for 10+ years, managing the brand and licensing facets for brands such as Angry Birds and Smurfs.

Besides helping those brands set foot in the Greater China market, she also handled the product development and marketing for McDonald’s ’40+ Happy Meal toys Campaign’ launch. Despite the fast food giant’s stringent safety rules, cost and operational constraints, her team won the ‘Best Marketing Campaign of the Year’ with the ‘Hello Kitty Summer Fun Campaign’.

5 Questions with Matthew Tam, Co-Founder of Myflat.hk

Before founding Myflat.hk, Matthew and his co-founder Antony met on the job working in global investment banking. Both grew up with the entrepreneurial gene as Matthew’s father started and operated the second Chinese restaurant in Zurich, Switzerland while Antony’s father owned a successful textile dyeing company in Hong Kong.

At work, their similarities continued as they both have a background in project management for various business lines. As they saw the banking industry evolve – they decided to change things up and take a leap into startup life.
