With more and more startups launching in (and moving to) Hong Kong every day it’s time to get serious about defining the data in our city so we can talk, quote and share how developed the city has become over the past 6 years since we first started meeting up in coffee shops and building the startup ecosystem.
We are working with InvestHK and our partner Collingwood Advisors to define this so everyone can have it and present the findings at the StartMeUp HK Festival in January 2017.
Since it is a government survey, we slightly toned down on the original title of the survey we came up with: STARTUP ROCKSTARS OF HONG KONG – so we’ve gone a bit more conservative but the result will be the same – a comprehensive listing of all startups in Hong Kong and where they stand in their growth as of 2016.
Last year the government found tons of new startups in Hong Kong – we hope to define the terminology around the word “startup” and then compare how it’s grown/decreased/stayed the same since a similar survey was done last year. It’s all very exciting and we hope that we will be able to put some definition on the ecosystem for the betterment of it, not just for Hong Kong, but for the rest of the world to see.
So please help us out –
fill out the survey here
Post that you filled it out to your Facebook and Twitter to help us raise awareness!
To incentivise you we are giving out a bunch of VIP tickets to RISE 2017 next year as well as the StartMeUp Venture Forum 2017 to the startups that help share the survey the most. We think startups will definitely want some red carpet treatment at these two big events in Hong Kong that saw the likes of Elon Musk of Tesla, William Shu of Deliveroo, Joel Flory of VSCO, Jon Lax of Facebook, Ben Bauer of FoodPanda, Holly Liu of Kabam, Min-Liang Tan of Razer and so many more…
We have a group of StartupsHK ambassadors that will be coming to your co-workspace, incubator, accelerator, coffee shop and sitting down with you to fill in the survey.
2017 will be an exciting year for Hong Kong startups as the city lights up for so many world stage events and we want to show off what the ecosystem looks like to everyone – hope you’ll join us!
