Friday night, co-founder of StartupsHK Casey Lau (@casey_lau) presented a class for General Assembly at The Hive on the startup scene here in Hong Kong. Surprisingly well attended for a Friday night, the class audience was made up of a good mix of people from the financial sector, new entrepreneurs to Hong Kong and local startups.

The class was successful enough that it will be turned into a monthly offering by General Assembly in Hong Kong so if you missed it, you can sign up here to get information on the next session.

Monday night at our Investor Roundtable we were privileged to have 3 prominent angels sit in on a panel to talk to startups about how to approach them and best practices.

Melissa Guzy, Arbor Partners
Tytus Michalski, Frescoca.com
Simon Squibb, Nest Ideas

Moderated by Casey Lau – the session energized the audience and some great feedback and ideas were exchanged. This event was so successful we’ll be planning another one in the near future as well as a lead-in to our main event StartupsHK presents Angel Investor Forum 2013 in March.

Our second mobile developers talk was great – we had Andy Cheung come and show off Microsoft Surface and the apps developed in HK, Ada Yuen show us DIY usability testing for your app and Ernest Chan talk about how he developed Patalogue.

Thanks to all the speakers for making it a great night of learning – though it seems the general consesnus is that the Ubuntu OS is DOA.

See you next month!
