In what seems like a whole bunch of eating going on – just last June we saw Koziness acquire an old-school food delivery platform Dial-a-Dinner (see Online Food Ordering and Delivery Platform Koziness Concepts Acquires Hong Kong Competitors) and now they themselves have been acquired by Rocket Internet’s Foodpanda.

Lessons I Learned While Raising Funding: A Look into Shopline’s New US$1.2 Million Seed Round by Co-Founder Raymond Yip

Today Shopline announced closing it’s seed round of US$1.2 million! Congrats Team Shopline – Raymond, Tony and Fiona! Some more details include:

  • Completed the 500 Startups Accelerator program in San Franciscoseveral months ago (Batch 10).
  • funding will allow Shopline to positionitself as the go-to online shop builder in Asia, beginning with Hong Kong and Taiwan.
  • looking to expandinto select markets in SEA later this year.
  • Investors include 500 Startups, Ardent Capital – founding investor of aCommerce, SXE Ventures –an early stage fund by Danny Yeung, co-founder of Groupon HK, East Ventures and COENT Venture Partners.

Swire Properties’ Blueprint Accelerator and Co-Workspace Shows the World Hong Kong is Serious About Startups

Of all 35+ spaces that have opened since the original BootHK and The Hive (who we still hold as the gold standard that showed everyone how co-workspace is done here in Hong Kong) nothing has made us more excited about the possibilities of doing a startup in Hong Kong than Blueprint in TaiKoo Place, Quarry Bay.

So from now on lets not focus on the amount of spaces we have in Hong Kong and focus on the ones that add value to the community.
