Simon Squibb, CEO of NEST, an investment incubator based in Hong Kong tells us about a new bootcamp he is putting together for the Hong Kong community:

Having been an angel investor for over 18 years, I have invested both time and money in a lot of entrepreneurs from all over the world, and have seen many startups come and go. At my start up incubator NEST, we invest both time and money in promising entrepreneurial talent.

To date, we have invested in at least 20 companies here but would like to double that number to 40 or even 50 in 2014.

To ensure this is possible, NEST has teamed up with General Assembly to create an intensive 5 Day Startup MBA Bootcamp. It is high time we empowered Hong Kong’s entrepreneurs with the skill-set that will enable them to succeed.

5 Questions With Spottly, A Social Travel App That Helps You Share Your Favorite Places

螢幕截圖 2013-10-28 00.35.28

Remember Spottly, one of the top 10 startups who showcased at our past Startup Saturday: Mobilliance 2013? Right after the event, the app was featured on App Store’s “Best New Apps” in 15 markets across Asia (Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Cambodia, and Laos) for 2 weeks since its launch!

When check-in is no longer fun to you or your friends, what else are you willing to share related to location and places you’ve been to? Spottly found a solution to those who love to explore cities and those who love to capture their new discoveries around town – It allows you to create interesting places and build your own traveling lists.

You can keep them to yourself as a journal or share it with your friends so they can join you. By posting photos, adding notes and creating traveling lists, users can organize their own “foodie-class” restaurants or those “dream-lands” lists just for themselves. Spottly helps you to discover interesting places, or in other words, to improve your quality of life!

We are as curious as you are so we had a chat with Edwyn Chan, the co-founder of this novel social travel app and here are 5 questions about him and this new startup he’s working on.
