The Bay Area’s startup scene is like a well-oiled machine that startups in the east often look up to.
While Hong Kong-based startups have the unique advantage in hardware, logistics, finance and eCommerce, our entrepreneurs can certainly learn a great deal from an established ecosystem like Silicon Valley. As our young tech startup scene turns an estimated five this year, Hong Kong entrepreneurs need to continually educate themselves in order to build a sturdy foundation for the years to come.
Which is why Cyberport will be sending a batch of startups to Silicon Valley from 7 – 13 September in the ‘Hong Kong ICT Delegation to USA’ to facilitate this.
The itinerary will include corporate visits to Google HQ, Microsoft Ventures and to accelerators such as 500startups and TechStars and will feature networking and technical exchange events with ICT companies, VCs and major industry players. What’s more is the visit will kick off at the hotly anticipated TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014, where selected Hong Kong startups can join in the product showcase.
The aim of the delegation is to help our entrepreneurs gain insight into established ecosystems and give the chance to forge collaborative connections with the US. But most important of all, the visit will give Hong Kong a chance to show off the disruptive technologies our startups have been working on.
Visit Cyberport’s website for more details on the delegation. If you have any questions, email Cyberport directly at [email protected].
