Google+ celebrated its one year anniversary in Hong Kong at an event at Pacific Coffee Emporium in Causeway Bay – see the Google+ Events page for photos.
Global Director, Google+ for Brands, Gretchen Howard appeared via teleconference at Google’s Hong Kong office to share some news about how well Google+ is doing:
Google+ Metrics:
- More than 400 million people have upgraded to Google+. 150 million are 30-day actives and 50 percent of them log on to Google+ daily
- Daily active users spend spend over 60 minutes per day on Google
- Daily active Google+ users spend 12 minutes per day on the stream, up from 9 minutes just 3 months ago
- More than one million Google+ Pages have been created
- We’re seeing that people are two to three times more likely to share content with one of their circles than to make a public post
- Over 3.4 billion photos have already been shared in Google+
- We are now seeing more users access Google+ from mobile devices than from the desktop
Google+ Live Hangouts Events:
- Google’s own video conferencing technology runs on Hangouts, and as a company we conduct around 10K+ Hangouts daily
- In the first 90 days since the launch of Hangouts, we have seen:
- Over 200 apps built for Hangouts
- The average duration of a Hangout increases by 2.5 times when participants use an app
- 1 in every 3 Hangouts use an app
