StartLab, the first bootcamp in Hong Kong targeted at tertiary students and graduates and supported by six universities, unveiled the event at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 1 June 2013.
Organizers of StartLab include the Internet Society Hong Kong, Cyberport and Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation.
To mark the kickoff of the StartLab, the organizers invited government officials, trade and university representatives to host the opening ceremony followed by a panel discussion among successful startups. The event is jointly organized by Internet Society Hong Kong, Cyberport and Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation.
StartLab is the first platform in Hong Kong which is built for tertiary students and graduates as well as aiming at fostering new startups within its exciting ecosystem.
StartLab is a one week event (1 June 2013 to 8 June 2013), and consists of a bootcamp and demo day. The bootcamp participants can learn the experiences of well-known and successful ICT entrepreneurs through mentorship, which will help the participants to build their own products and even launch their first startups. StartLab will be concluded by a demo day on 8 June for sharing the participant’s ideas to incubators, investors, entrepreneurs and the general public.
