Data & Analytics Aficionados Rejoice: the MeasureCamp Unconference is Coming to Hong Kong 17 January

Looks like startups had better make sure to relax over the Christmas holiday as it looks like we have a power-packed January for events.

Our good friend Cedric Delzanne is bringing Measurecamp to Hong Kong on January 17th – and we sat down with him and his co-orgaznier Charles Grosperrin about their “Barcamp for Analytics!”

What is an unconference?

Have you ever dreamed of a professional yet unformal gathering where everyone is giving the opportunity to speak up, to share ideas and insights to an audience of fellow digital enthusiasts? The unconference concept was born on that dream: the agenda is created by attendees in the very morning of the event. Anyone who wants to initiate a discussion on a given topic (examples listed below) can claim a time slot and a meeting room. You focus on what you find most interesting and useful.

What is Measurecamp about?

While Barcamp inaugurated the unconference concept in Hong Kong back in 2007 covering topics such as open source technologies, UX and mobile development, Measurcamp Hong Kong will focus on web analytics and data-driven marketing. Past MeasureCamps in London and Paris have been large successes since 2012, sparking a lively community of fellow marketers, data analysts and data scientists.

Why Hong Kong?

Hong Kong is progressively becoming a cradle of innovation where the tech startup community has been blossoming. The city is now rich with co-working spaces, start-up incubators, tech conferences and digital meetups of regional influence. Startup Saturday, ClickZ Live, Digital Cream and Web Wednesday are just few examples of gatherings in a city where digital transformation is on everyone’s lips and minds.

Yet, a strong community around the hot topics of web analytics and data-driven marketing has yet to emerge. It was thus natural to bring MeasureCamp to Hong Kong, where entrepreneurs and big business executives still have a lot to share and learn about the Why and How of Data. MCHK will be the perfect opportunity for analytics aficionados and data junkies, marketers and developers alike to gather, discuss and share the latest innovations, best practices and case studies.
