Every creation begins with an idea, and sometimes not a very clear one.
That initial spark of insight can lead to great inventions and possibly change the world, but more often than not, is left to deteriorate inside the minds of great thinkers. Fear, lack of resources, and a deficiency in skill leave many ideas unfulfilled. But Social Innovation Camp Asia is here to change that.
Sponsored by Softlayer, Bonza Pie and yours truly, StartupsHK, Social Innovation Camp Asia will be arriving in Hong Kong from the 27th-29th of September. Bringing together technology gurus with those who have a social itch to scratch, this weekend event will spark creations of web-based solutions to social problems in our modern society.
Mentors with impressive skills, like Andres Valera, So-Young and Raiyo Nariman will be available to guide the development process. SICA is also teaming up with UNDP Global Centre for Public Service, picking one of the six ideas to focus on the improvement of public services. Given 48 hours to transform a concept into a working software, the competition is fierce, but the end result is rewarding.
