Having lived in South America, the US and the UK, Miles (pictured left) felt it was time for him to experience Asia and moved to Hong Kong in 2006. Soon after arriving, he was hired by Goldman Sachs and worked with them for in Hong Kong and Tokyo – but turned his gaze to the logistics industry after five years in the investment banking space. Miles then worked as the general manager for LifeStyle Logistics, a Shanghai-based company serving lifestyle and fashion brands.

From investment banking to logistics, Miles then decide to return to Hong Kong and co-found a valet storage startup with his brother Charlie. Besides going full-time with StuffGenie, Miles is also the co-founder and partner of VPG Asia, an investment syndicate that helps fundraise, co-invest in and help startups grow their presence in Asia.

10 Hong Kong Startup Founders Share What They Most Look Forward to in 2015

Happy holidays startups! 2014 has been a huge year for the Hong Kong startup scene and we can all attest to the speedy growth of our ecosystem.

Take mobile logistics startup Gogovan for example. The homegrown startup picked up their US $6.5 million Series A over the summer, then an additional $10 million last month – for a total of $16.5 million raised in 2014 alone. Or Google’s acquisition of enterprise tech startup Divide which was much buzzed about.

And how about the three new accelerator programs that have all arrived in the past year? Besides Accenture’s ‘FinTech Innovation Lab’ launching back in June, Swire Properties’ ‘blueprint’ for B2B startups has also arrived on the scene with AIA and Nest teaming up to create a new accelerator program for wearable tech and healthcare startups.

The 14 Most Popular Hong Kong Startup Stories of 2014

It’s the last day of 2014 and there have been some amazing stories published on StartupsHK.com about the Hong Kong startup scene.

SO we decidied to sit down with Google Analytics and have a look at which stories were the most popular on the site from January 1, 2014 till today – here is what Google told us in terms of pageviews and not including social media shares or reprints on other sites.

While there are a few surprises to us in this list, it’s what we saw had the most activity in social media sharing – news on new co-workspaces and news on new funding. We’re happy to see that the most popular founder stories were our 5 Questions interviews with Raymond Yip of Shopline and Catherine Tan of Notey.
