Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, RocketHub, FringeBacker, Big Colors, Crowdrise, Quirky, AngelList – crowdfunding is definitely the future of getting your ideas off the ground and we’re putting together the first Startup Saturday around this topic on January 25. Register now at this link and see the latest list of speakers and agenda.
We’ll be coming at from a few angles:
Crowdfunding for Projects
We have a handful of awesome tech Kickstarter projects that launched on KS from Hong Kong – like the current campaign for JUMP that just blew past its goal in 3 days – so we’re getting them to come out and share some of their tips and tricks on getting a campaign successfully funded and what to do if it doesn’t.
Crowdfunding for Business
Big Colors is helping startups get funding from multiple investors, Crowdbaron is doing crowdfunding for real estate – how is this done, what are the pro’s and cons and what is the growth potential here as it faces startups going forward.
Crowdfunding for Manufacturing
One of Hong Kong’s major areas of disruption is in manufacturing – if you can crowdfund it, you can crowdmake it as well – we have Makible and Ambi Labs talk about sourcing and manufacturing their high-tech gadgets just over the border and how you can too.

All the details are on the registration page – we are keeping it a bit more cozy than our last events with only 100 spots as we want to generate more discussions and contributions by participants. We’ll have a light lunch served as well as booths for all the cool products we’re featuring at this Startup Saturday.
