Have what it takes to do a startup?  Wondered what it would be like to run with your own idea and business?  Grab this chance to make the next-hot-thing on the market with an expected 40 other of China’s most creative and visionary entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Hack, rework, and build up a startup over the weekend (58 hours) in June at Startup Weekend Beijing (SWBJ), with the final goal of pitching your “big idea” to Beijing’s top venture capitalists.  VCs confirmed to date include senior investment professionals from IDG, Intel Capital, Lightspeed Ventures and Singapore Telecom’s Innov8.
With a mission to educate entrepreneurs and build communities around the world, Startup Weekend is funded by the Kauffman Foundation, the largest foundation in the United States devoted to entrepreneurship.

“Because speed and guanxi matter much more for startups in China, events like Startup Weekend Beijing can help facilitate key business decisions such as investing and hiring” says Andy Mok, founder of Red Pagoda Resources, a recruiting firm specializing in finding talent for VC-backed companies in China and organizer of SWBJ.
