Q: What is ‘Women Who Code?’
A: With the booming software industry in Hong Kong, I noticed that there weren’t any particular meetup groups aimed at female software developers. So along with Michelle Sun of First Code Academy, we founded ‘Women Who Code Hong Kong’ in January 2014. Check our website for our next meeting.
Q: Why did you start ‘Women Who Code?’
A: Hong Kong has a very thriving developer community with a surge of aspiring and talented women in tech. ‘Women Who Code Hong Kong’ is a forum and open meetup for women who want to collaborate and learn from one another. It provides an empowering experience for any developer to share and exchange their experiences.
Q: What do you do at Women Who Code?
A: ‘Women Who Code’ gather every month and it serves as a source of inspiration to other women in tech, with varied topics every month, including, robotics and web development. ‘Women Who Code’ has informative talks, exciting hackathons and collaborative forums for women in tech to learn and share from one another.
Join us on our next event next Tuesday, May 13th at Paperclip Startup Campus for an ‘Introduction on Rails’ by Hubert Lee.
