On September 12th (Thursday) 9.15-5.30, TiE HK will be holding a one-day conference at Hong Kong Jockey Club for investors and entrepreneurs who are interested in early stage funding.
Investing in start-up and high growth companies successfully can result in a very high returns on investment. Its perceived high risk nature has meant that many investors have steered clear of this space. At this very first TiE Hong Kong early stage investment event, speakers and panellists will be sharing some of the secrets on reducing the risks, enhancing the return of investing in the many bright ideas and the way of growing businesses in Hong Kong.
Starting in Silicon Valley TiE now has a presence in 60 cities and 17 countries globally and has been helping start-ups and high growth companies for 20+ years. This event has been created to help the TiE global community to connect with the owners of capital in Hong Kong with a view to developing the local early stage funding scene.
The past 10 years have witnessed the development of a nascent angel investment community in Hong Kong. Many family offices and other investors are looking to start-ups and SMEs as a way to boost their return on capital. In these days of QE and its flood of cheap money the banks are paying deposit rates of close to zero.
