Viss Raises 6-figure Seed Investment for their Hong Kong-based Fashion App

Congrats to Viss – a social media fashion app for iOS and Android based out of Hong Kong and created by Leo Ku.

Viss tells us they have raised seed capital from new angel group 8 plus and will be using the investment for geographic expansion, enhancing on engagement and commerce solutions for brands to capture value on VISS and expansion on media partnership!

Exciting news for app startups in Hong Kong as this is the second big seed funding we’ve seen this year after SnapTee. We are speculating it is in the US$500,000 range. Viss has received quite a bit of traction recently in fashion circles and is looking to bring the fashion photo and merge it with fashion commerce.

VISS, the interest-based Fashion Media and Commerce platform focusing on Asia, has received a strategic seed investment from serial entrepreneurs Clive Ng and Christian Remrod via their company 8 plus holding. Clive Ng is Chairman and Founder of AsiaContent, MTV Japan, and China Cablecom, and Fashion Networks International. Christian Remrod is Managing Director of Fairchild Fashion Media (CondeNast Group) and the Founder of Fashion Networks, which has brought together and continues to curate content from the world’s leading fashion personalities such as Anna Dello Russo, BryanBoy, Derek Blasberg and Elin Kling and has been crucial in establishing the status of bloggers worldwide.

Since going live in last September, VISS has attracted a substantial amount of Fashion Taste-makers in Asia to Share and tag brands on their daily looks on both website (http://viss.me) and mobile Apps – iOS and Android.

With the previous regional media track records of VISS’ founders Ivy Wong and Leo Ku, VISS takes a unique approach on working with major media sites and social networks to feature the Fashionistas’ daily looks and help brands to engage fashionistas to gain regional exposures on both awareness and conversion.

VISS also facilitates audiences to discover looks by trends and category that inspire them, and Shop the Looks directly with its proprietary product matching technology through the VISS Platform.

The VISS mobile app was recently featured in Apple’s App Store’s ‘New and Noteworthy Front page’ and ‘What’s Hot’ section in 14 Asian Countries. So far the VISS website has about 2.8 Million monthly unique visitors, and 18 million monthly page views.
